Revalidation

We have recently reviewed our courses as part of our regular quality assurance process.  As a result some changes to course content or delivery of the courses will take place in 2025.

Like all University of Southampton undergraduate degree courses, our Bachelor of Medicine programmes require periodic revalidation in line with the University’s defined Policy and Procedure to ensure their continuing validity and relevance.

The process seeks to ensure that the education provision of the Faculty of Medicine is well-designed, academically coherent and intellectually challenging, and that programmes of study are informed by research and capable of enriching the student experience.

A number of specialised fields are featured within the curriculum, some examples include: Medical Ethics & LawMedical Humanities and Professionalism

Our staff foster a learning culture that empowers individuals and encourages innovation and we are continually exploring opportunities for flexible education which adapts to the changing way people want to learn. Examples include the extensive use of Virtual Patients, interactive quizzes and video packages; comprehensive learning portals; and a series of online practicals which are used to 'flip' the classroom.

We also offer a comprehensive suite of online staff development modules.
