The Public Engagement with Research unit (PERu) inspires, connects and enables an engaged, inclusive research environment by enhancing capacity, capability and advocating a culture that rewards and recognises high quality public engagement with research, knowledge exchange and education to enable real world change.
We are part of Research and Innovation Services (RIS) at the University, together helping boost the impact of staff and student research through collaboration, events, training and development.
Our offer helps equip colleagues at the University of Southampton with the tools and opportunities to carry out high quality Public Engagement. It is simplified into three primary areas: Inspire, Connect and Enable. These key areas offer several strands of support from funding and training to opportunities to get involved in as well as civic and community based engagement. Explore more on our offer below.
