The University of Southampton's health service centre, also known as Building 48. There is a student walking down the path towards the entrance.

Register with a local doctor

All new students should find and register with a local doctor (GP) as soon as possible, whether you’re from the UK or somewhere else in the world.  Don’t wait until you’re ill to register with a doctor.

Looking after your health

It’s important to take care of both your physical and mental health during your time at university.

Visit the University health page to find guidance and information on:

  • registering with a doctor
  • local health services available near you, such as dentists and pharmacies
  • important vaccinations, including the meningitis and measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccines
  • sexual health services and support
  • ways to stay active

Visit the University health page

You'll only be able to access this page once you've finished setting up your University IT account.
